While I applaud the effort to correct a base error that affects 800,000 people, I think the government should stick to one uniform policy. Those that conduct nefarious phishing scams could use this as an opportunity to commit identity theft. My advice to taxpayers facing these issues is to check on the status through HealthCare.gov.
